Children in Africa lead very different lives to those here in the west. Here are some pictures, which I will be adding to, of some of the things they get up to.
FOOTBALL

Bexley FC and Charlton Athletic football clubs kindly donated their old kit for us to take to the boys. I was unsure that the jackets would be of any use in Africa but you can see in the first picture they were very welcome when it began to pour down with rain. Look how proud the boy in the second picture looks in his new jacket !
CHORES

All of the children have to help out every day with the chores. It's the job of one child to feed the chickens, but what an unusual way of doing it !
He has to fill pots each evening with dung from the cattle. These are left outside the hut at night for the Termites to find and crawl into. In the morning the pots are emptied onto the ground and the chickens feed on all the Termites that come crawling out.
Another job is collecting fruit and vegetables from the forest. No supermarkets here !
SCHOOL
In Ghana children can only attend school if they have their own uniform. Many parents can not afford to buy uniforms even though they cost just £2.50 each. All of the children we meet want to go to school as they know it is the only way for them to improve their future.
In the village shown, every child has been given a uniform and can attend school. As you can see in the first picture, it is very basic. We reguarly take books with us to give to the school and they are well read. On my last visit one of the boys brought one of the books to me and asked me to explain what all of the strange pictues were. It was a book about the human body and how it works. He could not believe that that's what he looked like inside.
GIRLS
In Africa young girls are expected to look after their younger brothers and sisters. It's like playing with real babies instead of dolls. You can see Mama here carrying her young sister on her back.
Girls also have to help with preparing and cooking food, cleaning, fetching water, sweeping and many other jobs to help their Mums and Dads.
FUN
The children make their own fun in Africa. No playstations, Wii's or X boxes for them. I fact thay have very few if any toys. The stack of old tyres waiting to be made into climbing towers in the playground gave them lots of laughs.
