Dominic Agongo who runs a basketware Co-operative in Bolgatanga supporting up to 50 weaving groups from surrounding villages.
Bolgatanga is the heart of the basket making community in Northern Ghana. The baskets are woven from Millet grown locally.
Basket making is a traditional craft of the area. We promote the products of these traditions in ways which are economically
viable and sustainable in their own country and the West. We have been working with Dominic over the last few years
developing new colours and designs that appeal more to western taste.
