African Djembe Classes
Would you like to learn to play the African Djembe? We hold classes every Thursday from 6.00 to 7.45pm. Bring your own drum or borrow one of ours. The cost is £5 per session which pays for the tutor and the balance is donated to the And Albert Foundation
We are an informal fun group who just enjoy drumming together. We welcome any ability - even if you have never hit a drum before and even if you think you have no rythmn but still want to drum, you are welcome and will quickly become part of the Baobab drummers. We primarily learn west African rythmns. It's very exciting when all 15 or 12 or even just 6 of us play together in complete unison.
We have even been asked to perform a couple of times at Hafla's in Ware, for a group of Belly Dancers www.bellybelles.co.uk. We also be performed at a local charity event - Gambian Night - organised by "Helping" see pictures below.
Booking isn't neccesary you can just turn up - we are here every week.
Gambian Night
We had a great time at Gambian Night and Helping raised over £800 which was a fantastic result.
